Q2006 Ministry Project

We are expecting everyone to take part in this project and we will supply transportation.  This project will take place in downtown Oklahoma City about 9 miles from the campus and is sponsored by Youth In Mission/Youthserve.  Please stop by the YIM/Youthserve booth in the Commons area for more information about service projects for high school teenagers.  There are summer projects available around the USA and Canada.  See http://www.nyiyouthserve.org/ or http://www.youthinmission.org/ for further information.  Rev. Joel Tooley, Youth Missions Coordinator,  and Jill Fothergill, Youth In Mission Assistant, from Nazarene Missions and NYI will be available during Q2006

We will be involved in a cleaning up the building project with all quizzer, coaches and officials being involved.  Because of the nature of the project we are asking each person to bring clothes appropriate for working in a dirty, dusty environment.  Their will be specific jobs assigned to many groups with adults as the leaders.  Guests may also volunteer by informing their Q2006 district or local church responsible person.  Registered users of Q2006 should poll their guests for interest and then inform Bill Horning (see address information below).

For those who cannot participate directly, we have a few other options near the campus.  First, after the fireworks display and celebration at the park in Bethany, some clean up will be required.  This consists of taking out the trash and general pick up of the area.  This is a service we can provide to the community.  Second, we will prepare crisis kits and school supply kits for Heart to Heart International.  Kits may also be prepared during times when quizzers are not quizzing.  The location for the kit preparation will be disclosed at the event or in an update email.

Additionally, we are soliciting quiz material from any book(s) for distribution to our global quiz areas.  This project is called Sending Out Scripture (SOS) and is being coordinated by one of our teens from Maine,

We will have a short celebration service after the project in Herrick auditorium.  Some participants will have the opportunity to share their experience.

Thanks for helping make this a fruitful project for everyone.  God has helped us find a need that we can meet.
